Medium Groodle Puppies, also known as Standard Groodle Puppies, are a hybrid between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Groodles originated from North America during 1990s and were bred as alternatives to the Labradoodle.
Medium Groodles have become a popular choice for dog owners in Australia. Their high intelligence, gentle disposition and affectionate nature, and low or non-shedding coats make them a highly lovable dog.
Medium Groodles generally have two types of coats – fleece and wool. Their fleece textured coats have a soft silky texture which resembles the coat of an Angora goat. This type of coat can have either a straight wavy look or a soft looping curl. Fleece coats are non shedding and low allergenic. The wool textured coat is more dense in texture and resembles the coat of a sheep or lamb. It has an appearance which can be described as spiraling wool and doesn’t appear too dense or tightly curled. It is also a non shedding, low allergenic coat. Medium groodles generally require clipping 2-3 times a year. Weekly brushing helps to keep medium groodle coats manageable.
